Online Creation tools for teachers and students
Teachers and Students: Most of these online tools will require you to sign up in order to save your work. Be sure to use your school created Gmail address for your email. If you are required to choose a username and/or password, plan on a naming convention so you will always be able to remember your logins.
lino is an online web sticky note service that can be used to post memos, video links, article links, and photos anywhere on an online web canvas. Instructions may be found here. It looks like a bulletin board!
Fotobabble is an online tool that allows students and teachers to post a picture with a voice narrative underneath it. As a teacher, you could use this for instructions on your website. As a student, you could read a report or research about a specific picture you have found (for example, information about the original Texas Rangers), for a different way to present your findings. You simply upload or link to a picture, then press record to read your narration. You can then send the link to your teacher.
When you want to use a youtube video in class, go to this site. Paste the URL of the video into safeshare or viewpure and it will create a safe URL for you that doesn't have any ads or extraneous videos that could be offensive. After you create your safeshare link or viewpure, you can share it with others.
